Description

In Shakespeare’s original text, the tragedy of Othello is not only due to the Othello syndrome but also Iago’s jealousy towards the Moor, Othello.

The performance connects scenes and lines in the original play with symbolic scenes from various Hollywood movies in which elements of racial discrimination pervades.

Again, it borrows the history of black and white to portray today’s discrimination of the yellow against the dark-yellow.

Therefore, the performance helps the audience
understand that there is a huge overlap between the tragedy in the original text and today. Racism, the tragedy, being just a matter of color, still exists to this day performed by different people in a different form.
